BLAAHHH!!

Here i go again, ranting and raving at the 'shit' play that gets lucky at low stakes. It gets so irritating! How many times do the poker sites want to reward the fish just so they will stay and make them more money?? And yes, i do think online poker is rigged, maybe not all, but some sites for definite. Blah blah blah at all the people who say it isn't and its just variance or whatever!! Ive lost my last 3 rolls, wasn't much to lose but still pissed off. Although i cannot play as well as i used to i still think i can play better than a lot of the players on these sites. But i like to play against stronger players because at least they know when to fold!

Everything is looking up though on the 'non-poker' side of things just to mention. I now have two jobs to earn me a bit of money, the new one is working behind the bar at a local pub which i quite like, you get to socialise while working which is alright. Working Christmas eve which is an ass but can't wait for Christmas day....just a big laze and a lush meal....and i got 3 =) here we come weight watchers ;)

hope you all have a good one

laters,

yours truly

Sincere Apologies

Don't really know where to start this post so I'll start by saying sorry. Sorry for displaying my last post and not telling you guys whats happening, sorry for not being around as much as i was (RTR and bloggerment..etc...). There was a reason for not being involved with poker for the past months and that reason was depression.
November particularly was a distressing month for me. Me and my girlfriend had split up (again) but this time for good, i had fallen out with a few people from my football team and had to leave, i had suffered from paranoia which almost saw me quitting my course, and to top that a relative that has helped out my family an extraordinary amount over the last few years had past away. This not being enough to smite me, but i was also on a very bad run in poker for the few days in which my bankroll lasted.
It wasn't until early December, after taking some great advice off friends, family, colleagues, and such that i overcame a lot of this, a new start i felt was in order. I managed to sort my head out.
This sudden burst in self esteem saw me through my problems. i decided to stay on my course, now not caring what anyone thinks of me. I have found a new girlfriend who had also split with her boyfriend at a similar time and so we came to help each other through it which made it alot easier. I am also awaiting a confirmation of my transfer to a new football club which happen to be top of the league in the same league as my previous club. and i have accepted death as an inevitability.
On the poker side of things, i am currently grinding a small bankroll at low stakes just to build things back up again. Everything now is looking up again and i am very happy as opposed to weeks ago.
As for Christmas and new year coming up soon, i would like to thank everyone who has supported me, everyone who has read my blog and everyone who i know. I would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year x x

ATB

Yours Truely

Changing my game

Some changes are good

<<<< some are not!

I feel now that a change in my game is needed, to do this I'm going to ask my readers for a few pointers. I'm wondering what allows all of you to play the best poker possible. What allows you to concentrate fully on the game at hand and have 100% focus when needed. My play is lacking, i can feel i am just another fish playing low stakes and not even excelling at that!!

My play is going downhill apart from when, now and again, i get the occasional outburst of pure genius shown in tournaments mostly.

Can i get some feedback please:

Is there anything you do before you play that helps you to concentrate?? do you listen to music whilst playing? are you talking on msn while playing? multi tabling??

Any poker books you recommend on poker strategy? any help to try and improve my game is gladly accepted, cheers

I Cannot Multi-table

First of all i just wanted to mention the bloggerment. I came back from the pub sitting with 1.1k in chips. I got lucky against mair, sorry about that. And soon lasted until the final table where it got to 4 players left. It folded to me in the SB, with rob in the BB, who was being quite tight i figured he was going to pass a lot of hands here, I pushed with a low ace and he quickly calls with QQ :( out i go.

After that i decided to multi-table a few SnG's and a few ring games. I did absolutely appalling in cash and soon went down about 5 buy ins, this bad luck/bad play continued right through until i decided to quit there on the cash table front. My ass got saved when i cashed in 2nd place in the last SnG i was in and brought me back up to just about even for the night.

Im going to play a few mtt's now and i hope to do well, because i could do with a decent result..its been a while and I'm due lol.

Friday 2 November 2007

Few First Hours

I hit the tables late this afternoon and played some long hours right through late into the evening. I have played many SnG's and a few tournements aswell. I think i cashed overall in just 2 sit and go's out of something like 10, which aint to good, im not happy with that at all. As for the tournements, well they didnt go to well either. I didnt manage to cash in any despite reaching near the bubble in one of them.

So far, i must have only played 7 hours of poker at the most but ive seen enough cold decks to make an eskimo freeze, suffered so many bad beats to last me a few weeks and im just so sick of poker already. Also, i got so bored playing which i dont think ive ever felt before. I usually love playing!

Even though i have had some rubbish results in the past few hours i managed to place 1st in the last 18 player SnG i was in and that brought me break even to my starting roll (only $2 lost tonight) so its not all bad.

Back..

Hey guys! Im back blogging again. Still a lot a lot more poker to come from me.
Apart from the bloggerment, its been over two months since ive played poker and im not really sure how im going to get on, well no one does really but it seems all blank to me once again, much like it was when i started playing. This break, i think, will prove good for my results. Now all i have to do is try my best and hope i succeed.
My new strategy is to stay away from cash tables for the meantime and try to excel, at what i think my strength is, tourneys and multi table SnG's.
My first SnG on the first night back i managed to bag a 3rd place finish in a 18 player SnG, so started off on a good one. Thats all ive played tonight, hope to play again soon.

Just A Break

Everybody needs a break now and again. Im on a long break from poker and so i hadn't felt the need to be blogging as nothing interesting has happened. But im still reading, and im still checking to see how everyone is getting along.
I hope to return, and to return on good form. When i do is undecided.
I wish the best of luck to all my readers. ATB...portdeco20..x

My Sunday Night

it was all going on on friday night! The world blogger championship of online poker aswell as the bloggerment, does life get any better??

I started off well in the WBCOOP, was involved in 5 pots in about 18 hands and won everyone, but my biggest was when i raised pre flop on the button with A8 and i get called by BB. Flop comes 10 high with nothing particularly scary. He checks to me and i put my continuation bet of about 60% of the pot, i get massively re reraised and from then i knew he was either weak or had squat so i decided to just call his massive raise and again call his huge turn bet when it came to pair the board, you may think this is seriuosly bad play by me, but i was going with my read here, dont ask how i know he doesnt have anything i just followed instincts. When the fish overbet the river i shoved all in quickly and he folded instantly lol, and i caught absolutely nothing on the board but i probably had the best hand, maybe up against a small pair but i don't think so. Anyway, my success was short lived as a few hands later i shoved against a player i was re raising quite a lot pre flop, i think he got aggrovated and called all in with A8os, i held QQ and that ace hit the flop hard! and my stack was dented about 10k with only 6k left it was being eroded by the blinds and so i bet a large proportion of my stack (to emphasise i was pot commited) when i held 66 on the button when it had folded around, a shorter stack in the SB called and i get re raised from the BB and i was all in pre flop, 66 vs A5 vs 99 and no help...99 takes it....gg me. Just want to congratulate burnley mik, lou saban, and ace filled dreams for a great game, well played and well done BM and lou for finishing enough to bag some prizes!

I had the bloggerment to fall back on after i left the WBCOOP early, and it was a good turnout this week, thankyou everyone who turned up. Not many interesting hands really, got caught bluffing with 35s AIP vs 77, 77 hit quads! nh. made final table and bagged 7th place, more points for me =) again...would like to congratulate burnley mik for finishing 1st, an irregular occurance ;) but i cant speak because im just a bridesmaid!

Roll's gone...tilt got the better of me

Past few days i have realised, despite being a profitable player (see sharkscope or official poker rankings) i am not a very good player. Why i say this is because i do not have the ability to keep my head. When i suffer a bad beat or numerous bad beats in a short time i chase my money on higher tables, i lose my head and i start playing really really badly. Im starting to get aggrovated by the fish when they make bad plays and get lucky and take it up with them in chat.
Why have i changed?? I used to be a quiet yet profitable player who could take a bad beat and carry on busting the fish, i could build my roll no problem and used to avoid tilt quite simply. I was able to tear up most of the 1 table sit and go's and make a healthy profit, i was able to use bankroll management effectively without steaming and needing to play higher. I think i know the cause and its similar to 'bluescouse' in my opinion. Ive been blinded by the higher stakes and now the stakes i play with mean nothing to me, which is where im wrong, it does mean something to me, infact its a lot of money to me. Ive lost the ability to understand the value of money and what im playing with. I dont think it is going to change and i dont think i can successfully build a roll from less than $200 because i end up losing it. Although this may sound that i am reconsidering playing poker as much as i do, which is true, i doubt i will change, i feel im addicted to poker already after a short period of time playing.
Also, i don't use any table selection, i jump straight into the game with no information on my opponents, no bankroll management and have no idea how i will get on. My confidence in my game has just plummited. All i need is a boost of confidence, a deep tourney result, a big win in cash, or just little things like a progressive income everyday, a 1st place finish in the bloggerment.....i just need to something, just to keep the faith.
Im 80% sure that most poker players have felt this way i am feeling now and i am very curious how they overcame this. Any help will be very much appreciated.

Bad Tilt, Bad Play, Why the Good Reward?

< thats how u avoid tilt! or make it better!

As you can see it didnt go well, but then again it did!!?? wtf are u on about lloydy?? i hear u ask!

Well, im not amatay! so i cant keep my head or just stop playing when i feel myself going on tilt. And i did, big time. I played 2 gurantee tournements and did absolutely shit fair do's. This put me on the edge and quietly steaming, then posting about it on rtr just made me flip, i was soon to open up a $0.50/1 table with more than half of my BR ($60) to sit down with. As you can imagine, i didnt last long! Not till i busted a fish then hit and run him, but i did wait until he left the table 1st, after a few more hands. Im not a big fan of hit and run but i knew if i stayed i was going to bust 90% of the time the way i was playing.

The hand!! ur screaming. Well unless you read my post on rtr you will not now how i bust this fish! firstly a $4 from my left, i bump it upto $15 with 99, i then get re raised from a pusher to my left who has me covered. The original raiser gets out the way and i dont even anticipate folding 99 in this spot the way my head is and i quickly push another $45+ into the pot willy nilly like

flop brings me good fortune and i hit a set of nines, there's an ace up there aswell, plus a jack on the turn and a blank on the river, I pray that he has not got JJ or AA, to my relief he turns over QQ for one sick bad beat by a bad player! That pot was $125 and i leave it there. That put my roll back upto $160.

Then i actually run quite bad 3 hands in a row, i say run bad, i mean i dont get lucky. I push all in with AKdiamonds on a 10 high flop 2 diamonds and dont hit, lose to 10J. Then a get AQ and raise pre flop, i get re raised for not much more than double what i bet, so i call and fold on a 9 high flop after he c-bets. The same player i re raise him with KK and i thought this was excellent timing for KK, i can make it look like i was steaming from last 2 hands, he comes over the top and i push. he insta calls and i lose to fukin AA, what are the fukin odds pokerstars??? 3 hands in a row and i lose all 3 with some premium hands! it was a good job this was at 10c/25c otherwise i'd be a broke man!

Quite depressed today tbh, my bro has moved to oz so i wont see him for a year or 2 depending how long he wants there! bit pissed off with the poker tonight, only good and positive thing is that i played amazing at footy today despite losing 2-1, my manager and the 1st team manager all gave us the talk 'im very dissapointed' and boy were they! 'im so pissed off cos i know u can do better but u didnt put the effort in' they say to the whole team, They then turned to me in front of every1...'lloydy, i was very impressed with the way u played today, u were the best on the fukin team' =) so i'll keep my head on this i think to keep me cheerful!

Also, i can't wait for the bloggerment now, ive seen the new league table and im determined to score more points! see burnley miks on links if u want to see the table.

sorry i cant post much positive stuff!

A Blindin' Week!

From sunday right through to...monday has been an awsome week (+1 day) really! although down a bit due to personal problems in the real world, all is good on 'poker planet'!

it started in the bloggerment, i had bought in for the tournement and if i had not cashed, my roll would've have stood at $9. Luckily enough, i did cash, a 2nd place finish brung home a nice $33 and some points for WALES! wehey!

next day, monday, i had cashed after getting deep into a $5 turbo event out of 2027 entrants in which i had boosted my bankroll another $45. while this was enough to up my confidence, i decided to play some 10c/25c tables on the tuesday for the whole week basically. I made a nice profit most days and i had peaked my new bankroll at $120 by the friday. Then played a few more tables but unfortunatly started to lose and my bankroll plumited to 80 something dollars.

Then, the good old bloggerment came along again, played well imo once again, maybe not aswel as i played the previuos week and i bagged another 2nd place finish for $27? i think??

My roll was once again over $100, The next day i played cash, soon went to $120. Then played another turbo tourney and finished 31st out of 858 for $35 and a $25 profit. There it peaked after a $5 win on the cash tables at $150 on the monday =)

Never The Bride...

I came across a cold deck early on in the bloggerment and lost a large proportion of my stack, heres the hand:

I had 55 in the BB and there are a few limpers from UTG and UTG+1. Flop comes 3-5-7 and i check raise a bet and a call. One player stuck around and called my turn bet. Then raised my river bet. I just called and he turned over 77! ouch. My stack after was not healthy (around 400 chips)

I managed to rebuild my stack well, i was patient and i knocked Burnleymik out with this hand:

I Limped in early with QQ as did a player to my left. A mid positioned players raises, button calls and burnley pushes the last of his stack in. I re raise all in and everyone else folds. Burnley had QJ and went out.

That hand put my stack over 1k again and now i had some chips to play with! I get lucky after limping into this pot and knocking out resident evil:

Amatay raises from early/mid position and i call with 44, there was another call from my left (resident evil). Flop comes 10-4-7 and it checked all around. Then an ace on the turn (my money card) and amatay checks and i bet half the pot, i get raised from resident and amatay folds. I re raise all in and get called by a drawing dead AK

I made it to the 1st break 2nd in chips with a 4.3k stack and looking good for final table as there was only one place left to go..

made the final table and didnt play many hands, then this hand comes along and i dont personally think i made a wrong decision to call, obviuosly in this situation i had the better hand, but there was a discussion as to how i could call with my hand.

Blinds 75/150 and it folds to SB who raises to 750. I re raise to 2.5k with 99, and the SB pushes for a further 2k+. I didnt think there was anything wrong with me calling here so i did. SB turns 88 and i knock out rosie.

It was 3 handed and i get this hand and knock another player out, hammerheid!

I get 99 in the BB and re raise his initial raise from the button, he pushes and i call. all in pre flop 99 vs AK and my 9's held

it then went to heads up play between me and spid, i thought he had played very well upto this point and i knew it was goin to be a tough heads up match.

In the last hand i caught two pair with a pair on the board after the turn and spid had higher two pair, even though i was pretty sure i was beat i pushed anyway, boredome and tiredness i think.

GG every1, congrats to spid, wp!

Tag Rugby Tournement

As part of a coaching/sport course i am doing I had to coach 7/8year olds how to play tag rugby. It was an inventful day, full of laughter and games and i enjoyed every second of it. It was the first time i had coached anyone, and they were kids that didn't listen, shouted alot and i was coaching them all on my own while other people on the course were teaching different schools! on my own! lol. We had some drills prepared beforehand but that quickly went out the window and i had to improvise....hmmm.....what would be fun for the kids to play???......it hit me.....'stuck in the mud', i loved playing this and the kids were really enthusiastic. By the times we finished and got some munch they had told me they had played stuck in the mud 5times previuos before...in the same day lmao.

After dinner we got back to the fields for our first game, didnt go well, although playing games and races with the children was much more exciting than sitting them down and teaching the rules, maybe a quick over run of the rules was the best option. They knew none! they were everywhere! ball was everywhere! forward passing got irritating but they had fun.

In between games i did go over the rules many many times as they did not listen. It was amazing how they got so attatched to me aswell, i had only knew them a few hours and they loved me! they looked upto me and followed me everywhere. The second game was much better, a slight understanding allowed us to score three try's without fowling. I didnt teach them but , at one point, a child from our side studded a player that was dominating us and had scored 2 try's for the opposing team, he didnt even have the ball! the child went off crying but was alright! good tactics i say! Big shoutout to caersws A team years 3/4.....wp, gg.

Poker- still running well. after my last post i played a 20 minute session on the 10c/25c and trippled my $10 buy in. Roll now stand at $112 because i lost $6 in a SnG.

A man and his wife go to their honeymoon place for their 25th anniversary. As the couple reflected on that magical evening 25 years ago, the wife asked the husband: "When you first saw my naked body in front of you, what was going through your mind?" The husband replied: "All I wanted to do was to fuck your brains out, and suck your tits dry." Then, as the wife undressed, she asked: "What are you thinking now?"He replied: "It looks like I did a pretty good job."

A Nice Run Of Success

Past few days now have looked more promising than the last weeks have. Made quite a bit of money in ring games of 10c/25c and had a nice cash last night in the $5 turbo tourney. I placed 25th/2027 for $45.

A quick session this morning landed me with another profit of $15 on the 10c/25c and now my bankroll stands at a healthy $99 compared to mondays roll of $9. That how you go from $9 to $99 in under 9 days!! =)

going to hit the tables for another quick session, and post again tomorrow, gl

Wednesday 26 September 2007

I rose!! Rose with style!!

I said i would, bloggerment money that was lost.....has now been won back! woohoo!

played a few short sessions on 10c/25c and played excellently and trippled my $10 buy in, then doubled my $5 on another table straight after. This was before i tried to play a $3 SnG with amatay, but didnt manage to get on the same table because he's such a tit! lol. I played two of these SnG's and didnt cash =(. I played a sesh today, a short one that started well, again trippleing my $10 buy in when an interesting hand played out. but first i will tell you of my doings earlier on.

Firstly, i had re raised a 4xbb raise pre flop with one limper (6 handed) and they both folded and i showed them 95. This was a pre trap move, Next time i re raise in a similar position i would have a hand and was my set up for the hand i mentioned earlier. Then it comes, same position (SB) one limper UTG and a min raise from mid pos. I held AA and raise a similar amount but slightly bigger than previuos. Limper calls and original raiser calls (my trap was set). Flop is something like Q72, this flop does not seem threatening at all, i did think about check raising but they know im aggressive and are expecting a follow through bet (hand or not). So i overbet, make it look like im tryin to push anyone with a queen off. The UTG limper calls all in and original raiser calls. Pots getting big now (around $22) and the guy left in the pot only had another $5 or so. So..we see a turn come off which was a jack and i bet to push im all in, he calls and a side pot of $10 was created. River peels a blank and the showdown. Original raiser wins side pot of $10+ with JQ, two pairs (queens and jacks). Limper UTG wins main pot $20+ with QQ, (three queens). Portdeco20 with AA, devestated.

I finish the session with a small profit i think, but last 2 days have been quite good. Monday Roll- $9.....wednsday roll-$45

Tuesday 25 September 2007

Don't Worry.....

Portdeco will rise to the occasion!

Winnings already turned to dust

Day after bloggerment (monday) i lost my winnings from coming 2nd ($33) with a mixture of bad runs and bad play.

Ive realised/noticed that BRM is not helping my roll at all. I used to play a game of whatever stake when i felt like it (within reason) and ive won quite a lot of money that way. Notice, the last few times ive giving myself a startin roll and tried to build it using BRM, it has dissapeared in quick succession. Im returning to playing the good old way, bit of risk, bit of gamble =)

Bloggerment Bridesmaid

I didn't plan on playing the bloggerment this week as it states in my previuos post, but i come back home earlier than expected. Normal play for me in the bloggerment is to start off extremely aggressive and play my hands fast...but, as my results state, it hasn't been working out for me at all. Two walks of shame and a nothing result out of three attempts. I have noticed that the bloggerment is rather aggressive and normally quite fast, so i adapted my play, and maintained a tight aggressive style. It worked out for me, despite putting all my money in with JJ vs QQ and getting lucky i feel i played very well. Took a few beats like my AA vs AK hand, but wasn't an awful lot of my stack. I made my first final table, coming into it second in chips to cloud. I carried through my tight play onto the final table and all the way through to heads up against weegem. It was getting rather late and i needed to be awake at 6:30am the next day. I gave a warning in chat...."bit slow"...i typed...just to suggest that m going to be more aggressive. The style didnt really work and i lost all focus, and lost 2nd pair to top pair on flop. I more than doubled my roll though =)
well played weegem, good game all, unlucky bluescouse! Points for Wales nevertheless, and my first 'point cash' and 'money cash' in the bloggerment.
lmao
There was a guy who was struggling to decide what to wear to go to a fancy costume party... Then he had a bright idea. When the host answered the door, he found the guy standing there with no shirt and no socks on."What the hell are you supposed to be?" asked the host."A premature ejaculation," said the man. "I just came in my pants!"

16 Hour Sleep

My 16 hour sleep last night was lush, aint had a sleep like that in years, only possible after a 1 hour sleep the night before. Feel refreshed today =) and so i put $20 into my stars account just for a bit of fun because i'm really missing playing poker now, i miss having $1000+ in my account to play around with and busting lol. This $20 is just a little bit to play around with until i make enough money from work that i can stick in and afford to lose. That will probably be $150+. All i want to be able to do is have a nice healthy roll and play at 0.25/0.50 or 0.50/1.0 and make a nice profit each day, but playing at micro i just get stupid!

Things going ok atm, i had a 30 min sesh just before goin out to the pub to play a bit of pool, made a few cents =) enough for a bag of porkies is all you need! sorry, going out to the pub so no bloggerment for me tonight, you will have to find someother fish to go out 1st!

Joke for today

There was this construction worker on the 3rd floor of this unfinished building. He needed a hand saw, but was too lazy to go down and get it himself, so he tried to call his fellow worker on the ground to get it for him, but this guy could not hear a word he said. So he started to give a sign so the guy on the ground could understand him. First he pointed at his eyes (meaning "I") then pointed at his knees (meaning "need), and moved his hand back and forth describing the movement of a hand saw. Finally, the guy on the ground started nodding his head like he understood and dropped his pants and started to jerk off. The guy on the 3rd floor got pissed-off and ran down to the ground and started yelling at this guy, "You idiot, I was trying to tell you I needed a hand saw." The other guy replied, "I know, I was trying to tell you that I was coming."

Poorer Posts

Everytime i post, my posts seem to get poorer and poorer. It seems impossible to write a half decent paragraph to me now! Not enjoyable to read! why do you read my blog?! haha!

Well nackered today, we played a live game last night as it was moz's last night round these parts. It was a good laugh, but i didnt get home till 6am and had to work at 8am, so feeling pretty bollocks today. £5 rebuy was the game we played, gravedigger the winner. he was 'the suck out' and sucked out on 3 of the 5 other players at the table. I was pretty card dead all night, until i get dealt aces and trap well imo, got him to put me all in on the turn with him needing just a diamond. Of course it comes! I can only say that i have had my fair share of suckouts on tom though lol.

Just a quick shout out to moz who is leaving us, good luck and all the best u 'hit and running' fish!

Im having one of those deep emotional times in my life lol, like asking all sorts of questions to myself e.g. 'what is the point in life?', why isnt everything free?' etc... DEEP STUFF! i think this is partly because i havent got anything to do with my life, im bored, im fustrated and females are not helping.

i may wait a while until i deposit, just until i have enough money out of my poker account so that i feel comfortable with the money im gambling with, wise thinking imo.

To make my blog more exciting, im going to write a new joke everyday at the end of each post for the shits and giggles, sorry if they are lame! here comes the 1st one........

A woman was shaking out a rug on the balcony of her 17th floor condominium when a sudden gust of wind blew her over the railing. "Damn, that was stupid," she thought as she fell. "What a way to die."As she passed the 14th floor, a man standing at his railing caught her in his arms. While she looked at him in disbelieving gratitude, he asked, "Do you suck?""No!" she shrieked, aghast. So, he dropped her. As she passed the 12th floor, another man reached out and caught her. "Do you screw?" he asked."Of course not!" she exclaimed before she could stop herself. He dropped her, too. The poor woman prayed to God for one more chance. As luck would have it, she was caught a third time, by a man on the eighth floor. "I suck! I screw!" she screamed in panic."Slut!" he said, and dropped her.

Thinking Of Starting A New Roll

Money isn't an issue with me at the moment, although i am working and i have the added factor of realising what i am losing, i think sometime soon is a good time to start a new roll. Having had a break from poker for quite a while now, having read a little of 'the complete guide to poker', having read differing comments on eds blog, I feel im ready for some poker action again. May put £100+ into my account soon hopefully, put some in full tilt and pokerstars and try and grind it out, although it hast give me much success recently i may return to how i started and built up my roll a few months ago.

Burnley, looool!!!

Gotta say mate, well done stickin it to the p***k 'ccc' on eds blog. he is no longer posting a comment (he claims), whooooo! funny as, read it if u aint seen it! On eds blog, the post is called 'busting borrowed money'

So So

Not been playin poker so an update on my life, got the job in supermarche, not really hard though because you dont need any qualifications lol, and i look like a total prick working there but i swallowed my pride and am making a bit of money to gamble with, therefore losses wont matter as much. Thats work life.

My back, still bad, work didnt help lifeting heavy stuff but i aint gunna say anything because i only been working for a day lol. Out of sport for a few weeks which has annoyed me, have been asked to play footy for a few teams and just not gunna happen for a while =(

would post on my love life but dont wana bore u, just aint goin well atm.

Tuesday 11 September 2007

Good News?? I bust my roll.....again lol

played 3 mtts that added upto an entry fee of $80 and bust in everyone, but i went for a job interview today in the local supermarche and its looking good, im goin for an induction thingy tomorrow and i might get the job, therefore, more money to play =) and....at levels i wont get bored at so probably.....PROBABLY!......wont feel the need to play higher than my roll can afford but we'll see!

Less Poker More Profit!

as a result, i will be playing less poker than i currently am which im hoping will have a positive affect on my game as i wont get so fustrated and wont feel the need to keep winning so less pressure on the financial side. *fingers crossed* we'll see if i get the job and see how it goes from there.

Bloggerment=Donkament ;)

mmmmm......1st out again.......for making a good read! me and kenn started real aggressive, a cool hand was when we both held pocket aces and fought it out to the death, i was trying to slow play while he was on full aggresion and i definately thought i had the pot when it was all in..ah well!

few hands later and a raise from me and a re raise from kenn, i held 44 and flop was 2-6-8, i check raise him and he pushes all in, i call as i can honestly say that i did not think he had a hand, maybe QK at best, he had 45 and spikes a 5 on the river =(...bit dissapointed

Getting In Deep

played for 4 hours straight in a $1 tourney, played some excellent poker imo, some of the best for a while. 726 players enetered and i made the last 10, nearly final table =(

the hand i went out to: folded to me in SB with QKos and i raise to 5xBB = 20k (my stack 48k) blinds 2k/4k obv! and BB calls, flop is 8-9-x and i check raise his 12k bet all in and he calls with 10-7os (good call pre flop......not! call 35-40% of your stack with 10-7off) anyway its all in and he hits a 10 on the river and im out one place b4 final table and with a shit profit of $7 but i'll take it.

I get fustrated for the rest of the day if i go deep and hardly get rewarded so im expecting to donk off some money tonight lol

Injury Causes Concern

My normal day is pretty much occupied away from poker, so i only fit in a few games here and there, i try and play as much as i can. At the moment, im just playin $1 SnG's and micro cash, ive made $20 profit from the $100 i deposited maybe a week and a half ago so its steadily increasing.

Recently, i suffered and injury playing football. It fucking kills, its in my back, i felt it going in the middle of trainin but carried on, by the end i couldnt bend down to get my boots off and leaving the ground i could hardly walk. Walkin into town i fell onto rails and walls numerous times as the pain was so overwhelming. I managed to make it home in one peice, but collapsed twice. I sat down for a few hours, played poker but couldnt get up lol. Struggled to get to bed last night but ended u having the best sleep ive had for a while. After lying in bed for ages i thought fuck it and breached the pain barrier and stood up straight, once up straight it was easy to walk, so took a long walk and returned to the poker, quite fustrated in not being able to go far and stuck in my room most the day, i lost $9. so back to $111.

My backs getting slightly better but the worst is when i need a shit lool. sorry for lack of updates, but i cba most the time and i dont read many blog entries sorry guys, i'll get round to gettin updated though soon ;)

The New Alias

i feel like ditchin "portdeco20", just because of the matter of when i win the wsop 2020 i dont want to be known as "portdeco20", i want a name a bit more representative of my play maybe, or to throw people off my way of playing. I want a strong but lyrical nickname, a memorable and sharp alias.

Now im no shakespeare, i dont know fuck all about words and their meanings and its hurting my brain trying to think, firstly of how to properly spell 'properly', and second to come up with a decent name.

I want your suggestions, now these are just a couple that came to my head, bit shit but oh well: "Ultimatum" and "dead card holdings"

any suggestions appreciated and will probably be mentioned in an upcoming post

EDIT:

i come up with a few more after writing the post. Some friends have called me a 'pretty boy' so that why i came up with:

'pretty poker' or 'pretty boi poker'

or else, there is:

'PokerJoker'
'Shark Bait'
'Acy Duecy'
'PokerShadow'
'BigFish'
'Blind Bluff'
'fish hook'
'shark eater'

they are just a few ideas, i really dont know what i fancy at the moment, still looking for ideas, so pitch!

My Tilt Control ;)

In reply to an anomonous comment on my last post, i start low, i get unlucky and bored and want to up the stakes so i play too high for my bankroll.

Here is the best solution i can come up with, the next passage will be read anytime i feel myself goin on tilt, its to help maintain good play and to prevent tilt =) i try my best

As a game of both luck and skill, poker can offer limitless moneymaking opportunities, but can also be a rollercoaster ride ride of ups and downs that pushes your abilities and nerves to their limits.
Poker is an alluring mixture of luck and skill that makes for an exciting experience. whether you are playing or just watching. The really great thing about it compared to say, chess snooker, or even football is that for limited periods, anyone can win. We see newcomers beating pro's or triumphing a big tournement and walking away with huge prizes.
But, if you've played poker for any lenght of time, then you'll be aware that the downside is that you can get extremely unlucky for seemingly extraordinary periods of time, perhaps week or even months, and you will never really reach an even keel, as the swings go back and forth continuously.
Whatever level of involvement in poker you decide upon-from weekly home game, to full-time-pro, your nerves and abilities are going to be tested, and perhaps pushed beyond their limits at various points in your playing career when things go badly. Of course, if things go better thean average then your main problem might be an inflated ego and estimation of your abilities, which can also be a problem as things start to even out!

No player is immune from goin on 'tilt', its the better players/ more successful players that learn to handle it better than others and lose the minimum.

This is going to help me, and i hope you too =)

Another Example of where I Outplay My opponent And Get Unlucky

$1/$2, i call a raise with AJ, flop is A-J-X and i check raise him all in, he calls and he turns A10, i double my $40 buy in. The next hand He raises again, and i call with AJ suited, flop comes 10-J-X and he checks, i knew he would re raise if it looked like i was stealing so i bet big, i bet $16 into $22, and indeed, he pushed, and i called, he turned AK and the queen came on the river, the $80 ws gone. I bought in for another $40 and get A10, i raise and there is one caller, Flop is K-J-X and he leads out $12, i knew he hadnt hit that flop or he would check raise/call, unless he had a small pair and would fold to a raise, so i pushed, he called with Q10 and the ace hits. So my rolls basically gone, $8 left, its fukin shit, i hate poker at the moment! I can't catch a break. No faith what so ever in my hands anymore

Whatever Happened To The Poker??

Have't really been on here much, as i am now i thought i would write a post, but ive been nosing round the old blogs and it seems that not much poker is being played, amongst the more fimiliar blogs i read anywho's. So what happened to the poker?

Pure Grindage

That $21 i put into cash soon went when i had a straight and flush draw but didnt hit, i left it there. The night after i played 6-7 mtt's which didnt go particularly well, lost quite a bit of my bankrol on stars and full tilt. Im keeping my stars account mainly for tourneys and my tilt account for cash, i prefer it that way.

Yesterday lost quite a bit on cash and went down to $199 in full tilt. This morning it picked up a bit, i lost my first $10 to a bad beat but started grinding my next $10 well.

I did get very lucky when i won a $20 pot all in pre flop AK vs AA, i hit trips lol. I then won another big pot QQ vs 1010. But the rest i had grinded out for 2 hours, i ended up cashing out at around $83, so a nice profit for the roll.

Monday 13 August 2007

A Bit More Fortunate

After some heavy beats in the tourneys on stars i took a little break and then played some cash on ful tilt, played 10c/25c (sticking to the rules) and bought in for $10, soon was up and was quite fortunate this time, i won a few races, caught a few cards and cant really complain (for once)

I finished with my session in profit of about $60

Sticking to rules now, ive made about $70 today, so i use 30% of my winnings and play in highest table possible =) the bit i like, so:

30% of $70 is $21. The highest table i can buy in for $21 is 50c/$1 eek, gl to me.

Going to hit that table now, but most i can lose is $21 so it aint too bad.

BR-$291

I Could Cry lol

I put the hours in, fought my way through a field of 2000+, managed to reach the money in a good position and for fukin wat!!

I have 34k (chip lead on my table) blinds: 400/800, i raise from button with Q8s because it folded to me, got called by BB, flop was 2-7-8 rainbow, BB checks and i bet just under the 5k+ pot, he calls. Turn was a 3 and he checks, i bet out 14k into a 15k pot and he calls with 2k remaining, river cmes a 9 and he pushes, i have to call and he has 10J for the fukin straight on the river, i was like 'WTF!!! WAT THE FUCK!!!!!' ive seen some bad play by fish before but this takes the piss, doesnt it? how can you call with a gutshot when your are gettin shitty odds and risking your tournement life, after the hand all the fish on the table said i donked off my chips, wat the hell??

I was left feling raped with a shit stack in front of me, i had played so well as well, i managed to reach final 120 people and was just startin to gather a stack when i called a donk who was pushing everyhand. I had QKhearts and he had Q6off, yeah, the 6 hit and i go out with shit profit!!

he even called himself a fish and said stars always rewards him for plays like that!

1st Out Fish =(

There it is, the blogger dunce walk of shame *head down*. 1st out in the bloggerment this week for making a stupid move with the nut flush draw..shame on me! Got called by a set and didnt hit.
Started my new roll today and did quite well, pure grindage on the 10c/25c tables and just before i was about to leave i got lucky and hit 2 pair on the river for a $55 pot :), i deserved to win though coz i had grinded it out for hours to get up. Ended a few $$$ up and entered $1 mtt, went pretty far, got into last 20 odd and lost a big pot K10 vs K9 him spiking a 9. That hurt and i put it all in KJ next hand and lost, won about $4 lol. Im up about $30 today so not too bad, Im railing Kenn atm in a $20 rebuy, chip lead on final table so vgl to him and well played mate.

Crash..and Burnt

After a dissapointing day yesterday i played cash and lowered my bankroll to $10. I then lost it, but i stuck to my rules until then.

I will be completely truthful how i lost it instead of lying =D
I put the $10 into a 25c/50c cash table of duece to seven (kansas city lowball).

I was watching the final table of the duece to seven wsop 2004 and got really into it, The final table included some great names: Howard Lederer, Barry Greenstein, chris ferguson..

I got really into this game so put the $10 on that, i went up to $17 before busting with my 8 low to his 7 low. I wouldve played lower stakes if only stars had lower!!

Ive deposited $204 on full tilt and going to carry my rules forward. At least now i have a decent sized roll to start.

Revised Rules:
  • I am not allowed to buy into a cash game with more than 5% of my roll
  • I cant buy into a cash game where the total amount money equals 40%+ of my full roll (stop me playing higher stakes as the short stack)
  • I am not allowed to enter a SnG that cost more than 5% of my roll
  • I am not allowed to enter an mtt that is more than 2% of my roll
  • Any profit i may gain in a day, 30% of that will be played with, in a cash table (depending on how much i win-to satisfy my higher stakes needs) and hopefully produce more profit. e.g if i gain $50 profit in a day, at the end of the day i will buy in a cash table for 30% of that = $15, no buy-ins after if i lose it!

I should be posting 2 times at least a day, once to report my daily profit and progress and to announce how much i will be playing with (night post), and once to announce how the cash went on (morning post) =D

3rd Day-No Progress

Off the subject of poker, i would just like to announce that pre season friendly's have stopped for us, our last one was today and just wanted to post our results =D,

Newtown U21's pre season friendly results:
  • Newtown 2-2 Ellsmere
  • Berriew 0-3 Newtown
  • Newtown 5-0 shrewsbury
  • Abermule 2-5 Newtown
  • Newtown 7-2 Newtown Rangers

Not bad tbh. Also, scored my first..a nice beauty into the top corner was a nice pickup after chipping the keeper, everyone shouting thought it was in, and it fukin hit the bar cos of a queer dip in it, grrr!

Not an awful lot of poker played today, was hoping to fit more in but i spent fookin hours trying to get a bastard game to work on my new lappy, and it still dont fukin work!!

Played a few meesly SnG's, won an 18 seater, lost the rest, ive pretty much broke even today at the moment but im gunna play through the night i guess. Need to win a lot if im gunna play the bloggerment tomorrow which i want to do, wales needs me!

Also, ive realised that my readers (all 3 lol...na joke) are probably pissed off with hearing my bad beat stories s i aint gunna poat about them anymore unless its real bad. But all im gunna say is arrrgh! Although its quite fun and a bit of a challenge playing this level, it can get very fustrating.

Just wanted to know, does anyone play duece to seven? i was watching wsop 2004 2-7 and found it quite good, might start playing low stakes if i build a roll.

2nd Day-Not So Good

I actually entered 4 SnG's yesterday and came 1st in everyone, ended the day on $25. Today i entered two SnG's and played a bit of cash, not had the desired results today like i did yesterday. But ive stuck to the rules and been a bit unlucky in some cases. Ive had aces bust twice today, and im now starting to hate that hand lol. One was when it was all in pre flop in a SnG AA vs KK and him spiking a king on the river. The other i tried to slow play but 1010 hit trips on the flop and busting my $2 in cash. I went out 1st on the final table of the other SnG when my JJ came up against QQ, but never mind, still got more than 2 days ago...and the days not over, could pick up!

1st Day- A Nice Profit

Never been more excited about playing poker as i did this morning, it was wierd, i couldnt wait to get going. I'm really enjoying this challenge, its the 1st day and ive managed to stick to my rules and made a nice healthy profit. I started on micro cash. won a bit, then lost more, I tried some $1 SnG's. Started on a 18 seater, ended up winning for $7.20, then a 9 seater and won that for $4.50, then another 9 seater, and again i won that for another $4.50 so 3 SnG's and 3 1st place finishes. Been a very good day actually although the money itself is near meaningless lol, ah well. Its keeping me busy and i am very happy with myself today. I honestly i think i can carry the rules with me to a high level, but we will see, could all go wrong if i start on a bad streak.

BR- $18

The BRM Challenge Rules

If anyone would like to adopt this challenge with me, you are more than welcome and we could make it a bit of fun, just comment on this post.

Here are the rules:
  • Start with $10 or less, i have $7 in my BR
  • I am not allowed to buy into a cah game or SnG that is more than 5% of my total BR. (there is an exeption under $2.50 for cash)
  • I am not allowed to enter an mtt more than 2% of my total BR

so here i go, hitting the micro limits =D

Wednesday 8 August 2007

De-Meaning But Good

I basically lost everything in my bankroll. Played a few SnG's today. cashed out in 2 and made $8 profit for the day. Then amatay offered me a game of $11, a 18 seater which didnt go well, I then donked off $10 on 10c/25c leaving me with a mere $4.59. So i hit the micro limits, doubled through gaining $3 pretty much straight away!

My inspiration of this challenge is chris fergusons $0 to $10k:
http://w.fulltiltpoker.com/chris-ferguson-challenge

I know my last challenge didnt go so well, and to be honest i dnt see this one do much better, im just gunna dnk of my money after a bad beat or summut. But im seriously gunna try cos if i can do this it might be spectacular =) and i really do think i can get used to micro limits *yawn*

bankroll now is $7, im not going to play SnG's or tourney yet, not until my bankroll is up to around $40. I will do another post to clarify the proper rules when i can think properly, bit late now, so i will post 1st thig 2morrow and get to work

Tuesday 7 August 2007

Fustration!

I can't seem to play well at all recently, it really sucks. I just get so many bad beats it is really hard to focus on my A game. The tournement didn't go well as i expected. I was doing quite well, had a decent chip stack and no real danger of going out. I get AKsuited utg and raise 4x BB and a mid position calls, flop is A-3-5 and i bet out for just under pot and look like i didnt like the ace, he raises me, i assume now he also has an ace, i dont put him on two pair, but around A10. I re raise him all in he calls, he has me covered and has J5 for pair of 5's. Sick when the jack on the river hits =(.

This kinda things is so frequent at the moment, so i ask the question..'why does bad play get rewarded?' It hurts my brain!

The good news is that my eyes have been opened by non other than phil hellmuth!

heres the link: http://youtube.com/watch?v=XQjtHcSe4j0

and if you cant be bothered to watch, he basically introduces you to a new race of poker players, these are called 'meglomaniacs'. And basically these are the players that win a bit of money and then play with the money on higher stakes to try and win big. But the players dont have the skill to play at that level so just raise everything to try and not lose and try and accumilate more money. This is exactly how i play, once i win enough to play 5/10, im there, i may win a bit now and again, but in the log run im gunna lose everytime, because i do not have the skill or BR to play at those levels.

Thanks phil!

A Total Donk Fest!!!

I entered 7-8 $3 SnG, never cashed in one, not fukin good. But it was a total donk fest. Its so hard to play against bad players sometimes.

here are some ways i got knocked out:

  1. JJ vs 99 vS AQ with 99 hitting full house
  2. QKs vs AA (cant complain)
  3. TPTK flop vs 2nd pair making two pair
  4. hu, 2nd pair vs top pair
  5. AKs vs QQ
  6. AK vs 66
  7. two pair vs flush draw
  8. 2nd pair vs straight draw

just not good, totally fustrated now and my bankrolls almost gone.....again!

I'm back!

<<<<< laptop ="D
love it!
I'm back, yes i got a roll again, starting low again and hopefully produce similar results. I didn't hit the tables straight away after depositing but did later on.
A few people have said to mulitable when i play on lesser tables, they say i won't get carried away with playing hands i shouldn't really get involved with. Multitabling isn't really my style but i decided t give it a try, bought in 4 tables of 25c/50c for $10 each.
Hit trips against flush, one buy in gone, then i have two pair on the turn and push all in against two players, i know ones on a flush draw with 2 diamonds and i put the other on top pair. They both call however me betting so much doesn't really allow the flush fish to calll, but yet he does and catches, i don't play well on any table really and i am $25 down straight away. Not a good start, maybe stick to tourneys for now, but that's not final. Sometimes i only feel like playing for 20 mins.
entered a tourney later on so i will see how it goes

Sunday 5 August 2007

A Reconstruction

Its happened again, tilted played way above my limits in 5/10 and 10/20 with my whole bankroll.

played aakari hu, he rivered me for $300 with a straight and so did a player on 10/20.

lost my whole bankroll now =( nothing to play with, yet i have made £1700 this one week so i cant really complain. i realise 1/2 was above my limits burnley but i didnt listen, sorry bud, when i lost a reasonable pot on 1/2 i would tilt, if i played lower i dont think it would have had the same affect.

ah well, still going to buy a new laptop with the money and probably wont deposit until thats sorted, so may be a week until i play again unless i cash in the bloggerment tonight which will start the roll again.

i accept criticism

A Good Day But I Break My Rules

Yes, i broke my rules after 1 day. I knew it wouldnt take long but....fukin hell! Been a decent day though, heres my day in a nutshell:

day 2:

Played some PLO for fake cash, its basically all in with shit to try and get lucky, and normally some ass beats you with some crappy hand. I played a bit of this and lost. I then got bored, and hit the $1/$2 NLH tables. This was not such a good idea after playing that shitty game, started overplaying draws and such, and generally forgot i was playing for real money. The hand i lost a lot of money was when i got dealt A5spades in cut off, i raise to $8, button calls, SB raises to $44, BB calls, i call (wtf??) and button calls. Flop was K-4-4 with two clubs, SB and BB check, and i push for a further $80 (again wtf??) button folds and SB and BB call, SB is all in aswell, the board doesnt help me and all i have is ace high, BB turns his hand and wins the pot with a higher ace lol, he had the flush draw on the flop but didnt catch, god knows what SB had if he cant beat ace high!

I left shortly after that. Played live at ed's new house, 5 handed and wasn't doing too well but later on i started to play good, made some insane calls and some risky bluffs, I dont know what i bluffed ed off, but i had 4 high and got him to think i had a full house. I hit a couple of nice hands eg quad 7's, straight flush, couple of houses. Got lucky a few times which i felt bad for, espaically against grave digger, sorry man, i do feel bad =(. The hand was my 2 pair vs his nut straight on the flop, all in and i turned a house. I was rivering quite a lot when we played PLO, but i think i played very well. gg boys. Ended up £335 in profit, my biggest win yet live, happy with that and a great way to end an amazing week.

Ran 2 miles home....ugh....trying to get fit for footy which i played this morning, we won 5-1 against shrewsbury =D

got home, felt confident about my game and this is where i broke the rules, I played $5/$10. When your playing well, and you feel you can make money you should play, confidence is vital for your game! made a nice little $300 or so profit i think so it makes up for my bad play earlier on in the day...

All in all, A very good day

profit day 2: $170
profit so far: $291
BR- $1,402

End Of Day 1: Update

Missed a few hours of poker after i posted last, then came back on later, entered a 180 player $5 SnG, started well, was chip lead out of 100 for a while, but then busted out with around 50 players left.

Then i went straight up the $1/$2 cash tables. A few hands in and i QQ on the button, 4 limpers including me SB and BB. I like to limp with these hands and trap. Flop was 4-K-J rainbow. Nothing too threatening and we all check, now im pretty sure nobody has a king, turrn was a 5 and it checks to player to my right who bets $6 into $8. This guy is a fish....a total fish and likes to think he can successfully bluff lol. I just call and so does BB, river was a 3 and BB and player to my right checks, i bet out $8 into $26 looking for a call as i know none of them have a king. BB folds and the player to my right pushes, one of the weakest attempts at a bluff i have witnessed. i call and he has queen high (Q8) lolol. It was a nice $80 or so pot. Not a lot of action after and i leave about $50 up.

Stopped playing for the day now, pretty nakered and gotta play footy tomorrow, will update tomorrow, gl all

A Decent Start.....I Guess

Woke up looking forward to hitting the tables and earn my wage. I started my new plans with a roll of $1,111. straight to $1/$2 and a decent $100 win. I then lost a hand hu 1010 vs AQ which lost me $80.

I then saw a $5 tourney coming up and entered it, i did very well, played mostly abc poker and became chip lead. Soon changed when i cam up against a lucky fish who damaged my stack when it was all in on turn, my top 2 pair vs his top pair top kicker, hits a higher two pair on the river and im crippled and end up leaving next hand.

I then go back to $1/$2 for 30 mins and make a very nice profit and leave, take a break and hit the tables again, not so good this time, lose a few big pots, call pre flop when i dont need to get involved, bluff when he has a hand and basically give my money away. I come away $50 down, But i still made a profit....a win is a win!

might play later, may not

A Plan I Hope will Succeed

As you know if you read my blog over last few days i have been doin extremely well and turning over some great profit, today is not the case, i did lose a few hundred $, then i went up a few hundred $ but in the end i lost it again. My total loss for the day is $1000......eek!

yeah, i just tilted madly, few bad beats triggered it i s'pose. I really need to learn to contain myself, if i achieve that i can avoid these situations in the future. I withdrew another $800 to keep safe from tilting it away and headed off to play $1/$2 with a new roll of $1000. Spoke with amatay who mentioned his success over the years by just grinding, i liked the idea.

playing 15 minutes into the $1/$2 tables and bought in for $120, my stack was already $300 so i came to write this post.

new plans

I figured, instead of trying to make it big in a few hours/days and make myself feel good, I would rather grind it out. Sound better to you lot?

The $1/$2 seem easy grinding to me, play a few hours a day, maybe a couple of SnG's a day. and try make a nice profit of $300 each day. a week thats $2100, a month thats around $8,500.

Now i dont expect it to go as easy as it sounds of course. But im going to try and play as sensible as i can. If i make my $300 in one day, im going to stop altogether for that day.

But, if i start to lose then i will stop at $160 and call it a day. I dont expect to stick to this rule as i dont have the will power but i will try my best....lets see how long it lasts shall we. gl to me!

withdrew - $800

Cash With Aakkari

Yeah thats right i played cash with the pro, hehe. I came on in the morning and just played cash, made $200 quickly and put it on $5/$10 vs Aakkari, 6 handed, what have i got to lose??

Went very well, some good players but managed to make $130 profit on it and left after aakkari did, he was a lot tighter than i expected him to be. And.....wait for it........I stole his blinds =D i robbed $10 off a pro (one to tell the grandkids ey) lol. Pitty it wasn't raymer! i love that dude.

After i left that cash table i wet on to $3/$6 and made $200 pretty easy and went for a shower with $500 up in under 1 hour 30 mins. Lost some later on $3/$6 but still in profit for the day.

I come back on later, i withdraw $1000 to buy a new laptop =D and left $2,100 in my account. I looked for advice off ed =D for what levels i can withstand with my bankroll. I asked ed for advice on cash tables, what level? buy in? blah blah blah. And he recommended $3/$6 9 seater multi-tabling for $200 each.

So i go on to four tables with $200 each, early on i get QQ in SB, it folds to button who raises, i re raised him and he calls. flop was 4-J-A and i bet out half the pot, he calls. Turn was nothing scary....a 6 maybe, no flush available. I check, and he comes out with a very large bet, i take my time but i dont put him having an ace for some reason and call his bets, River is an ace and i lead out with a small bet. He then pushes all in. I still dont think he has an ace and call for not too much more, sure enough he turns Q10off lolz.

Anyway, the other tables went well aswell and i left after about 15 mins lol (hit and run) because i would feel crap if i lost it. So i was in profit $600 for 15 mins work....not bad.

Most boring tournement ive played

yeah this is as boring as it comes, starting off with a 5k stack with 10/20 blinds and increasing every 30 mins is pretty sick.

I hated playing but i still wanted to do well. I gained a very aggressive imge at the table, betting and raising with nothing.....i mean super aggressive because i was so bored, i was 2nd in chips out of 200 and was playing everyone at my table.

Now this is sick......

Chip lead on my table and i raise to 350 as i was doing nearly every hand with blinds at 25/50, and a few callers. I have 45 suited and flop is 3-6-7 rainbow giveing me the absolute nuts, i bet and 2 fold, one raises me, the 2nd chip lead who is also aggressive and plays well. I re raise hima and he pushes, i insta call as i know i got the best hand. He turns 99 for a pair of 9's

heres the sick part........

board comes runner runner 9's to give him quads........thankyou pokerstars, but that is the worst bad beat i have ever had in my life. Its just sick.

hand again: 45 vs 99 AIF

3-6-7-9-9

i think thats wrong.....anyone else had a beat like that?

well anyway that absolutely crippled me and i stuck it all in with Q3suited and lost

New Stakes In Cash

I had said to people i wasn't going to hit the cash tables for a while but i have, but only because i don't fancy the tournaments coming up or don't have much time. I bought in for $50 each on a 50c/$1 table and a $1/$2 table. They soon rose when i played pocket rockets on 1/2 and doubled through AIP AK vs Q10. I played well and felt i could outplay any of the players i sat with. Even though i came in as the short stack i soon was up to $120 on the 1/2.

I was just grinding out 50c/$1 and was in about $14 profit when i came across A2spades i raised pre flop with one limper from the SB. Flop was A-10-5 two spades for top pair flush draw. he checked and i bet, he quickly calls and i immediately put him on the flush draw, river is 7c and no help to him, he checks, and i want him to feel i was bluffing on the flop and let a card come off to see if its a spade. Indeed, its the 6spades and I'm sure i can double through, he leads out for $8 which is a small bet, now i definitely put him on the flush....but i got the nuts and just push because i know he will call, its another $50 more and he does call....take $130 pot.

I play on for a bit and leave with $130 on 50c/$1 and $180 on $1/$2

that's $210 profit in 15 minutes =D

The Big Win

Tired, been playing for 8-9 straight hours...ugh!

just thought to post before i rest. Good night anyway, in fact, excellent. I entered a $3.30 re buy tourney for $25k guarantee. Played extremely aggressive during the re buy period and has two re buy twice before gaining a 14k stack after one add on as well, from here on it just got better and better. I kept increasing through the fish, and played some excellent poker.

entrants: 2505

It was quite a long way into the tournament and i am a big stack, i get JQd on the BB and there are a few limper's. I just check and check the flop of 5-3-J, utg bets, and one caller, then i raise, utg calls and the other folds. turn is a 4 and i bet out and just called from utg. I'm probably behind here but i go for another bet on the river which is a 7 and gives four for the straight, i then get raised but he leaves 6k of his stack behind him with 50-60k in the pot, i think 'can i get him to fold?' and 'is that 6k in case i raise and he has something to play with?' the bet seems weak so i push, and he thinks but eventually folds, and i show and said u had me, he said yes =D. good bluffing! One pot was so cold. threes is early raiser and an all in after, i have QQ on the BB and call, the early raiser re raises and Ive committed enough to call his all in, its QQ vs KK vs 1010 with no help and my stack is very low. It only takes a few hands before i flop the nuts and double through and keep increasing again.

I did something really stupid, i had about a 130k stack and player to my right pushes, and I'm playing around and clicking the mouse lol (don't ask) and accidental call with K8, he turns AK and i lose the pot lol.

its late on in the tournament and i have 89suited and raise, and the chip leader calls, the flop comes 9 high and i bet and get raised, i push and he calls with KK, the board comes runner runner to give me a flush and i double through.

two tables left and i have over 1mil in chips and im up against another big stack who raises, i just call with KK and the flop comes low. He bets out and i raised. as i expected he pushes. I put him on AA or QQ. Sick if he AA and i call, he turns QQ and he gets knocked out, thats unlucky for him hehe

It takes a while but i continue to pay well and reach the final table. Its here where i look good for the 3rd above finish for over $2k, very excited yet very weary! I knock some guy out when my QQ is up against his 44.

I manage to get heads up with a short stack and it very aggressive play from him and i finally raise with K7, i get re raised and push for not much more, its my K7 vs A4 and no help and I'm out in 2nd place for $3.1k

$12 in total spent, winnings of $3.1k, best result by far! i thoroughly enjoyed it and i am very pleased.

Thanks to: Bluescouse, Hellboy, grave digger, amatay for watching and supporting me =D

Live game! Finally

Entrants: Portdeco20, Bluescouse, Moz, Hellboy and Gravedigger.

tourney: £5 +R 1 add on, NL hold em

We eventually got round to having a live game, its been a while, im a bit more confident live than online so its good. I think it was my first or second hand against bluescouse where i get knocked out and rebuy straight away where he makes trips on the river. But the money goes in on the river. I still play aggressive and there were a few passive players, moz and hellboy mostly. I increase my stack nicely. Its me and bluescouse in most pots together being the two most aggressive, i have J6 of clubs or summut like that and flop has two clubs, i call bluescouse's all in thinkin i have to get lucky on him, but no, he has 4-5 clubs for a lower flush draw, and i take a nice pot, but bluescouse had me covered. A few hands later and its my BB and i have 6-3clubs and bluescouse raises from the cut off. I call it and flop is 5-5-7 with two clubs, great flop for me with a straight flush draw, i check and blue bets, i raise and he pushes, i call. and he shows K3 for King high, im on a mega draw. Turn comes Q hearts, river comes 4 clubs to give me my straight flush, good feeling, and bluescouse is first to leave. Unlucky Blue =D

I also catch top pair top kicker with AJ against moz's flush draw and no help for moz. Even though hitting the straight flush against none other than bluescouse felt amazing the highlight of the night was when, gravedigger the short stack was left with 25 in chips after his AQ got beat to A4 when the flop came 4-x-4, the blinds were at 150/300 and antes were 25, so he could only afford the ante, but dispite this, he became lucky so many times, he managed to bring his stack back into the 1000's....amazingly to everone surprise. Moz was second to go out and left me, gravedigger and hellboy. I was raising gravediggers blinds alot, and raised with QQ, he min raised me and i push, he calls with k10, pretty bad call unless he thought i was bluffing, but thats him out dispite the epic come back.

Me and hellboy left, it didnt take long before i hit top pair against his bottom pair open ended draw, it was all in while i was dominating in chips and he doesnt hit and im the winnerr =D.

We did have a turbo NL game aswell, nothing too exciting, but a bit of fun, hellboy won that with Bluescouse coming second.

good game boys!

Relavent, yet..Irrelavent

First lets start with the irrelavence of this part of the post, nothing to do with poker, but in the interest of football. Started pre season matches and had our first today, first time we have all played together as a team and up against stiff competition from one of the best teams in their area.

The pace of the game was soo fast its unreal which is why im glad i didnt start as im not fit at all at the moment, but same great football played. 20 minutes into it and one of our players made a shit pass back to keeper, well tried, and they took it and put it in the back of the net....1-0 to them.

Few minutes later and a great pass from a winger on our team sets up our forward and the defender just gets a foot in, a good tackle which sends the ball flying, over the keeper who's off the line and straight into the back of the net. 1-1.

Just a few minutes later and the ball is launched up the field by our defenders, a winger running on to it, the defender backs off as the keeper comes, the keeper then pulls out and its a sweet volley straight in the net 2-1 to us.

Half time and i come on at right wing, The game had settled a bit by now but i guess we were dominating, a lot of missed chances from us was punished when they scored an open goal. 2-2, not much action second half but a very good game and en excellent result. We went home pleased with our performance...and better yet....i lasted the whole half =D, fitness improving now. good one boys!

Right, onto poker.....well....shit really! Started off well, $80 up in cash in first hour, then a few dollars went.....then more dollars went......then 1/4 bankroll went.......mmmm. Tilted badly nearly all day but i couldnt stop. Very unsettling, and dissapointed, and i didnt even have a reason to be on tilt. There was one key hand i lost a pretty big pot on, it was my 8-8 vs QQ. There was 8 on the flop and i call his bet, he bets on turn and i raise...also A on board but he calls, anyway, the queen on the river and i raise again, he just calls so could have been worse.

The peak of my bankroll was $330, now its, $130! Wow!

Gunna hit the tables now, hopefully go deep in a tournement and to come back and report something positive would be great.
