The Big Win

Tired, been playing for 8-9 straight hours...ugh!

just thought to post before i rest. Good night anyway, in fact, excellent. I entered a $3.30 re buy tourney for $25k guarantee. Played extremely aggressive during the re buy period and has two re buy twice before gaining a 14k stack after one add on as well, from here on it just got better and better. I kept increasing through the fish, and played some excellent poker.

entrants: 2505

It was quite a long way into the tournament and i am a big stack, i get JQd on the BB and there are a few limper's. I just check and check the flop of 5-3-J, utg bets, and one caller, then i raise, utg calls and the other folds. turn is a 4 and i bet out and just called from utg. I'm probably behind here but i go for another bet on the river which is a 7 and gives four for the straight, i then get raised but he leaves 6k of his stack behind him with 50-60k in the pot, i think 'can i get him to fold?' and 'is that 6k in case i raise and he has something to play with?' the bet seems weak so i push, and he thinks but eventually folds, and i show and said u had me, he said yes =D. good bluffing! One pot was so cold. threes is early raiser and an all in after, i have QQ on the BB and call, the early raiser re raises and Ive committed enough to call his all in, its QQ vs KK vs 1010 with no help and my stack is very low. It only takes a few hands before i flop the nuts and double through and keep increasing again.

I did something really stupid, i had about a 130k stack and player to my right pushes, and I'm playing around and clicking the mouse lol (don't ask) and accidental call with K8, he turns AK and i lose the pot lol.

its late on in the tournament and i have 89suited and raise, and the chip leader calls, the flop comes 9 high and i bet and get raised, i push and he calls with KK, the board comes runner runner to give me a flush and i double through.

two tables left and i have over 1mil in chips and im up against another big stack who raises, i just call with KK and the flop comes low. He bets out and i raised. as i expected he pushes. I put him on AA or QQ. Sick if he AA and i call, he turns QQ and he gets knocked out, thats unlucky for him hehe

It takes a while but i continue to pay well and reach the final table. Its here where i look good for the 3rd above finish for over $2k, very excited yet very weary! I knock some guy out when my QQ is up against his 44.

I manage to get heads up with a short stack and it very aggressive play from him and i finally raise with K7, i get re raised and push for not much more, its my K7 vs A4 and no help and I'm out in 2nd place for $3.1k

$12 in total spent, winnings of $3.1k, best result by far! i thoroughly enjoyed it and i am very pleased.

Thanks to: Bluescouse, Hellboy, grave digger, amatay for watching and supporting me =D

Live game! Finally

Entrants: Portdeco20, Bluescouse, Moz, Hellboy and Gravedigger.

tourney: £5 +R 1 add on, NL hold em

We eventually got round to having a live game, its been a while, im a bit more confident live than online so its good. I think it was my first or second hand against bluescouse where i get knocked out and rebuy straight away where he makes trips on the river. But the money goes in on the river. I still play aggressive and there were a few passive players, moz and hellboy mostly. I increase my stack nicely. Its me and bluescouse in most pots together being the two most aggressive, i have J6 of clubs or summut like that and flop has two clubs, i call bluescouse's all in thinkin i have to get lucky on him, but no, he has 4-5 clubs for a lower flush draw, and i take a nice pot, but bluescouse had me covered. A few hands later and its my BB and i have 6-3clubs and bluescouse raises from the cut off. I call it and flop is 5-5-7 with two clubs, great flop for me with a straight flush draw, i check and blue bets, i raise and he pushes, i call. and he shows K3 for King high, im on a mega draw. Turn comes Q hearts, river comes 4 clubs to give me my straight flush, good feeling, and bluescouse is first to leave. Unlucky Blue =D

I also catch top pair top kicker with AJ against moz's flush draw and no help for moz. Even though hitting the straight flush against none other than bluescouse felt amazing the highlight of the night was when, gravedigger the short stack was left with 25 in chips after his AQ got beat to A4 when the flop came 4-x-4, the blinds were at 150/300 and antes were 25, so he could only afford the ante, but dispite this, he became lucky so many times, he managed to bring his stack back into the 1000's....amazingly to everone surprise. Moz was second to go out and left me, gravedigger and hellboy. I was raising gravediggers blinds alot, and raised with QQ, he min raised me and i push, he calls with k10, pretty bad call unless he thought i was bluffing, but thats him out dispite the epic come back.

Me and hellboy left, it didnt take long before i hit top pair against his bottom pair open ended draw, it was all in while i was dominating in chips and he doesnt hit and im the winnerr =D.

We did have a turbo NL game aswell, nothing too exciting, but a bit of fun, hellboy won that with Bluescouse coming second.

good game boys!

Relavent, yet..Irrelavent

First lets start with the irrelavence of this part of the post, nothing to do with poker, but in the interest of football. Started pre season matches and had our first today, first time we have all played together as a team and up against stiff competition from one of the best teams in their area.

The pace of the game was soo fast its unreal which is why im glad i didnt start as im not fit at all at the moment, but same great football played. 20 minutes into it and one of our players made a shit pass back to keeper, well tried, and they took it and put it in the back of the net....1-0 to them.

Few minutes later and a great pass from a winger on our team sets up our forward and the defender just gets a foot in, a good tackle which sends the ball flying, over the keeper who's off the line and straight into the back of the net. 1-1.

Just a few minutes later and the ball is launched up the field by our defenders, a winger running on to it, the defender backs off as the keeper comes, the keeper then pulls out and its a sweet volley straight in the net 2-1 to us.

Half time and i come on at right wing, The game had settled a bit by now but i guess we were dominating, a lot of missed chances from us was punished when they scored an open goal. 2-2, not much action second half but a very good game and en excellent result. We went home pleased with our performance...and better yet....i lasted the whole half =D, fitness improving now. good one boys!

Right, onto poker.....well....shit really! Started off well, $80 up in cash in first hour, then a few dollars went.....then more dollars went......then 1/4 bankroll went.......mmmm. Tilted badly nearly all day but i couldnt stop. Very unsettling, and dissapointed, and i didnt even have a reason to be on tilt. There was one key hand i lost a pretty big pot on, it was my 8-8 vs QQ. There was 8 on the flop and i call his bet, he bets on turn and i raise...also A on board but he calls, anyway, the queen on the river and i raise again, he just calls so could have been worse.

The peak of my bankroll was $330, now its, $130! Wow!

Gunna hit the tables now, hopefully go deep in a tournement and to come back and report something positive would be great.

...The Fishing Season...

I want to start a trend, a little bit of fun and should be a laugh. Yes, its fishing season alright! So what I want you to do is, at the end of each month is to post on your blog and mention all the types of fish that you have come across =D

For example: Lately, I have come across many fish, here are just a few as an example:

  • the 'all-in fish'

  • the 'fish that calls you and loses and says he knows what you had'

  • The 'overplaying pocket pairs fish'

  • the 'flush draw fish' or, my personal favourite..

  • the 'drawn dead fish'

These are just a few examples of what i mean, join the trend, should be funny =D

Post a comment please.

Cash....And Its All in...

Benn playin 25c/50c and buying in for $10, played last night and lost my first buy in after hitting a straight against the nut straight.

I bought in again and it wasnt long before i doubled up slow playing JJ from the button. The table was full of fish and within about 20 minutes i had tripled my overall buy ($60), I then lost a few pots and was going to leave with $45, +$25. On my last hand i hit a flush against an opponents 2 pair i think it was and that brought me back to $60, i left it there for the night.

I have been playing the same stakes this morning and after quickly doubling through when an oponnent who pushed with 33 on a 4-5-7-9 board, while i was holding 7-7 it was a nice pot to take down. I just played some good poker (jess=cool) after and increased some more, i came across the same opponent and he raised pre flop. I just call with JJ, and flop is 3-4-7, he bets $5 into a $5 pot. (overbetting throws me off that i think he has overpair, and this guy doesnt like me as i took him out before) and i just call. turn is a 9 and he pushes all in for $21 and i quickly call, the river is an 8 and he turns K7 for a pair of sevens, i play a bit longer then leave.

total buy in - $10
cashed out - $55

The Fish Talks And Doesn't Know What Pot Odds Are.....

Playing cash tables of 10c/25c, i was not playing that well, but i was still in profit. I come across a little fishy called '3factor', i raise the button with K4spades, and he takes his time and min raises me, i call for value and the board come something like 8-9-9 with 2 spades, he pushes for only $2 more in a $5 pot, i know im (jess=cool) beat and that he probably has AA or KK but i call for pot odds and hit the flush on the river, he shows AA and i told him 'i know' lol. We had about a 20 minute discussion on the subject because he is such a bad loser. He kept goin on about 'you knew you were behind but you called anyway, how good are you?' and all the other fishy talk.

Well i put it to him by explaining pot odds but the little fishy brain popped, sorry man, too much to take in a guess. Well for any fish reading this like this AA sore thumb, here are a lesson in pot odds and calculating:

A Lesson In Calculating odds:

I am goin to use the example of my hand with AA.

two rules: x2 and x4

hands: AA vs K4 spades

flop: 8-9-9 two spades

K4 outs: 2s, 3s, 5s, 6s, 7s, 10s, Js, Qs, =8 outs.

where rules come in, to calculate odds of hitting on the turn, you multply your outs my 2 (because of roughly 50 cards in deck) so 8x2=16%

Hitting by the river is mutliplied by 4 becuase of of double the chance of hitting, so..8x4 =32%.

I was 32% to win the pot. Now i couldnt call if my pot odds were not allowing me to, this is how to calculate pot odds:

A Lesson In Pot Odds And How To Calculate Them:

Now im not a genius at this but here are the basics:

pot =$5

he bets $2 so pot is $7 and im 32% to win the pot

He is asking me to put $2 into a $7 pot which will make it $9, so my pot odds are 7/2,

100% divided by 7 = near 14%.......14x2 =28%

this means to call and for it to be correct, i need to be at least 28% to win the pot, which i was so it was the correct call.

So fishy, before you have a go at me for hitting a draw just think what pot odds i was getting, thankyou.

Hope you all learned somethng.

Worst Bad Beat Run I Have Ever Come Across

Entered 5 tourneys on pokerstars looking to make some big money:

The 1st tourney comes up and its the 1st hand and i have AA in the BB, i raise 3 limpers and one re raises me all in, i call, its my AA vs JJ and he hits a flush. and im out the first hand.

2nd tourney a few hands in, i hit a straight on the turn (nuts) and push it against his 2 pair and he gets a flush on the river. out of that tourney.

3rd tourney 1 min after 2nd tourney i get a set on the (jess=cool) turn and push all in to be called by top pair who hits a straight on the river.

4th and 5th tourney, im tilting badly and get a friend to play for a bit while i write this post. In one though I am 5th chip position out of 1480. only good news im afraid =(

Hands:

green=club
red=heart
blue=diamond
yellow=spade (dark backround)

1st tourne (pre flop): AA vs JJ

Board: 6-3-9-Q-7

2nd tourne (all in on turn): J9 vs 4-10

Board: 4-Q-8-10-2

3rd tourne (all in on turn): 99 vs QK

Board: Q-J-2-9-10

All these beats occured in five minutes, so in the other two tourney's i was basically giving my chips away

Got It In The End

Been playing SnG's all day for 8-9 hours with breaks, most have been $5 9 seater, not much success although i came in the money a few times, i played a hu SnG with 4 people (if you get me) and ended up winning that. But overall i haven't seen much profit, well infact, none. I was breaking even/losing all day. I finally played two $5 45 seater SnG's, one i had busted out in about 20th place when my AK came across AJ all in pre with a Jack on the flop.

The other one However, i did very well in, kept average stack until 17 players and managed to triple up my stack nearly when utg+1 pushed all in only to get called by mid position who got raised by me with AA on the BB and i got called all in. It was AA vs JJ vs QQ with no help for them. This brought my stack to 17k while 2nd chip lead was at 7k. I kept this chip lead all the way through to the final table where i held on past the bubble and then played more aggressively. I took a big hit to my stack when 6 players remained but (jess=cool) managed to grind my way back up to 2nd in chips. We were 3 handed, my 21k stack against 40k stack vs 2k stack, short stack was all in on the BB and we both called. Flop was 2-3-6 and i had A6 and bet, he folds, and short stack has K6, he has no help and we are heads up. It doesnt take long for me to double through to chip lead. He then raises my BB, i re raise him and he pushes to be called by my A10spades against his 92spades and i take it down for $45

A Day For A Fish (like me)

Not such a good day was yesterday, entered 3 180 player SnG, and busted one early and the other 2 close to the bubble, (jess=cool) i tilted off the rest of my $21 bankroll on full tilt, by re raising all in for 10x a previuos raiser with 3-3 only to be called by 4-4, bad play from both i would say.

Deposited another $80 or so on stars which now holds all of my current bankroll. Im still around $40 up on stars now, hope to grind some 1 table SnG's today, maybe a few tournements and come out with a profit exeeding $20.

Aaargh!

played cash after, played above my limits but no matter, im ok with that because its so hard to make profit on the small tables. Bought in on a 25c/50c 6 seater for $10, lost the 1st buy in by losing to top pair higher kicker, 2nd buy in was lost to a donk who hit straight against my trips, board was 9-4-5 all in pre with 9-9 turn a 3 and river a 6, he had K2 wtf?

3rd buy in (jess=cool) was lost to AA vs QK suited hitting a flush and the last buy in was tilted off, this all on stars.

Lame

Played another two 180 player SnG, got busted early in one when i went in with bottom 2 pair (9-J) against top pair (K-Q), board came 9-J-Q-7-7 for higher two pair, that was pretty lame, never got into the 2nd tourney much but got into last 30 with barely any chips, pushed with JJ mid position and got called with QQ.

Not a very eventful day, although i lost $10 on FT aswell playing cash, went all in 1st $5 buy in with AK suited vs JJ and didnt hit, and then another $5 was lost on JJ vs AA, and $9 on stars.

Getting quite annoyed because i never seem to win races when i have the over cards on stars, been up against small pairs a lot on stars with AK most of the time and never seem to hit or if i do, they just make trips or a full house, but i suppose thats poker.

Gunna play later and will probably update as its all that im doing these days.

2 Out Of 2

Another $4 SnG. 180 entrants and another final table reached. Played two of these SnG so far and have reached final table in both, that 2 out of 2!

Happy again with the way I played, yet dissapointed because i didnt come first. I entered final table 2nd in chips and at one point was chip lead. I suppose It was quite a tough table, espiecally 3 handed. But thats as far as i got. Lost a Big pot when i raised button and a min raise on the SB. I called with JQ and flop was 9-10-3, he pushes and i call, he turns AA and turn is jack but river is no help. have a 13k stack to 2k/4k blinds and i push on a riase from the button with 8-5 hearts. he has A8hearts and i go out of the tourney in 3rd place for $85 =)

Should be playing more of these SnG's today and try make it 100% record.

Ripping up the Tables

Didnt go off to the greatest of starts as you can see on the previuos post. But it picked up quite a bit, i played two $2 9 seater SnG's on full tilt and a 10,000 player freerol and a $40 180 player SnG on pokerstars at the same time.

I started off very well in each of them and gained chip lead in the two full tilt SnG's quite early on, i just progressed in each, ripping opponents apart lol.

In the freeroll i was chip lead on the table and get AKhearts mid position and call a guys all in from utg, he turns 8-8 and flop is 8-10-10 and no help so it leaves my stack vulnarable (lowest on my table). I needed to do something quick. It all folded round to me in late position and i push with 3-5off for 4xBB, i figured im in late position and if someone calls then my cards are probably live. I get two callers and the board is not kind so im out of the freeroll finishing in about 2000th place lol.

I feel i played my best poker for a while now in the two full tilt SnG's and i maintained chip lead throughout and ended up winning both for $9 a piece.

In the $4 SnG, which i am playing as i am writing, there are 44 players left and it pays out to 18th. I am currently sitting with a stack of 15.4k and i am 3rd in chips overall with a difference of 2k between me and 1st.

I get 8-9spades in the SB and raise an un-entered pot to 3xBB, BB calls, flop is 8-8-4, i lead out for over half the pot and he calls, turn is a 7 and i check, and he moves all in, I call and he has K-9hearts. I take the pot now i have 21k in chips and chip lead by 3k with 33 players remaning. =)

I did get lucky when i called the short stacks all in for just under 1k with 3-3 against his J-J and hittin a full house, 3's full of Q's lol.

I made it to the 2nd break with 24.2k in chips and currently 2nd place out of remaining 19 (bubble). Im not playing many hands now, just trying to steal blinds and increase my stack further.

I busted a mid stack when i had 7-8 mid position and call a raise, flop was 6-J-3 rainbow and i he checks, i bet and he calls, turn was 9diamonds for 2 to the flush and it went check check, the river was a diamond and he bets out 3k, i raise him 14k and he calls with 6-6 for trips, giving me a 53k stack nearing the final table.

I got to the final table as chip leader with 55k in chips with average at 30k and looking to reach heads up. I lost a reasonable pot when my 2pair got busted by trips, knocking my stack to 45k.

I think im playin too many hands, always getting called by the same person who ends up outplaying me, stack now 30k, gunna sit tight for a few hands and hopefully a few will drop out. 6 players left and the game is slow, a lot of folding pre flop and stealing the blinds, not much action yet.

I get AKd utg and raise. two callers. flop was K-8-9, i bet and they both called, turn was a 7 and i bet again, i get raised and im pot committed so i call, inevidably, he has the straight and im out in 6th place for a $36 finish, quite happy with my my play but i thought i might do better.

pokerstars BR- $69.58
Full tilt BR- $40.49

Losing quite a bit to the donkeys

Its quite hard to play well and win when you get donkeys that A6 is good from late position to raise a limp from utg who re raises all in with AJ (me) and gets calls and a 6 hits. These fish are eating away my bankroll and its already very fustrating, i dont see how i can possibly gain profit from playing these idiots! Ive already been in 2 SnG's, one on full tilt and one on stars, i got busted 1st to a guy, who fair play, played AA very well and got me all in on trips to his full house. But on stars that donk hitting a 6 was the other.

Im going to play a few more in a sec, maybe play some micro stakes cash games on stars, feel free to join for a bit of fun anyone =)

Full Tilt vs Stars

Was a bit pissed off with full tilt last night even though its probably my fault but i cant be mad at myself. What really annoyed me though is that i went offline like a minute before the tourney started! I tried cash game on full tilt after and started off fairly well by doubling through when i slow played QQ. I just kept grinding and then i ended up losing in a pot all in on a Q high flop with AQ against AA. I left it there and vertually broke even.

I have now $40 in poker stars, a change. Hopefully i can keep grinding at them both. Im gunna play quite a bit today i imagine so i will keep posting throughout the day probably.

good luck

Its fucked up!

That 5000FTP sat to 1k monday, i couldve sworn started at 3:30am, fuk sakes. I go offline at 1:30 am to try and get some kip just before the tourney and turns out i cant sleep. I was quite excited about this tourney and felt i could makee something of it. But fukin hell!!! i cam back online at 2:15 am and the tourney had started at 1:30 am, i had 400 chips left and only one player on the whole table was online and had 19k in chips. The rest had the same as me. I push with 9-J suited and he calls with Q8off and i hit a 9 on flop and he gets his Q on the turn. WAT THE FUCK!! its not fukin fair, i dont think its me who got the time mixed up becuase more than 3/4 of the entire entrants wern't playing. I just think thats fucked up....argh!

Im pissed off now as you can tell and going to play cash ans some SnG for A bit (recipe for disaster) but i need to play after looking forward to it all day.

Its fukin bollocks!

OMG! I forgot about the fish

Well, i got my bankroll up and running, a healthy $40 to start me off. Played a 6 seater 5c/10c game (interesting i know) in which Felix 'thanks for all the fish' was kind enough to join the rail and wish me good luck, so thanks felix =). As he knows i wasn't thanking all the fish, as i forgot how hard it was to gain any profit, if any, from these low stakes cash games. My first session with my new bankroll pretty much sucked. I had a pretty good read on a few players, espeically when i folded top pair top kicker to his two pair. I also folded trips on the turn when i had J3 on button, 2 limpers, one said he had to go b4 the hand and claimed he would play that hand because it was good lol. Flop was 8-J-J and i said in chat, is it better than J-3 and he said yes. and calls my bet. turn was an ace and i lead out, he raises and i fold and claim he had AJ. And sure enough he flipped AJ.

Still not entirely happy with that as i lost money overall! Just hoping to make a bit of profit from $2 SnG's now.

Oh, by the way, the second SnG i was on, near the first hand i get 3-4spades in the small blind and utg +1 make it BBx2 and i re raise along with the Button calling, and they both call my raise. Flop 7s-Kd-6s giving me the straight flush draw and i bet out for under half the pot, the utg+1 raiser pushes and button calls, i dont really want to lay it down lol (i should really) utg+1 has A8 spades for flush draw and button has KJ. Turn was 4 clubs giving me an additional 5 outs and river was the 5 spades for my 2nd straight flush ever and giving me chip lead and knocking two players out, how gloriuos =) I love it!!

Update on my 5000FTP sat to 1k monday coming later.

Soooo Bored

No money, no Job....arrgh! im stuck at home posting anything i can to keep myself occupied lol. I need to play for money again, i entered another satellite to go onto another satellite for entry into the 500k guarantee but busted out early when my straight got busted by a full house on the river.

Im looking forward to tonight/2morrow mornin, when i play the sattelite for the 1k monday, its like the only poker i can play properly because people care about the results.

I still need to know if i qualify for the 1k monday and un-register from it, do i get my 1k buy-in?

Will be posting again (live from the tourney) later, hope it makes a good post =)

Playing The FTP Way

No bankroll =(, just Full Tilt Points. I entered a 54 player SnG for 120FTP. I found it piss easy and came first, im now entered into a 5000FTP tourney in which there is entry into the 1k monday, i will play the satellite at 3:30am....ugh! Hopefully gaining entry to the 1k monday.

Can anyone tell me if i get entry to this tournement but unregister, do i get the 1k buy-in? That would be the best optiion if i do. I will Post live from the tournement tonight =) and keep u updated, because if i dont i forget the hands lol.

Still, if anyone wants to transfer me $10 it is very much appreciated ;)

Big Tilt, Big Bust, Long Break

haven't posted in a while now, didn't really feel like to be honest! I went on big tilt after being quite depressed over personal issues. I tilted away the full roll ($1,700), but i don't particularly care apart from i cant really play right now. It will be about one month before i can get my roll going again, but this will star at $40 (exiting stuff). I'm just going to try and grind my way back up to a few hundred dollars in the first month or so. I did deposit $800 before i lost all of it so it isn't too bad. Not having a job right now is a bit of a problem. I hope to update asap, but i doubt it will be for a while now.

the hand i lost my last $200. I was playing $5/$10 hu and i get KK on the button and raise to $30, he re raises to $90 and i push, he calls with A5. board comes J-3-2-7 and then the ace hits him on the river.

Fear Of Losing

A new fear of losing my whole bank roll overcome me last night. I played this morning so badly because i was uncomfortable, not because of the stakes but because i didnt want to go on tilt and lose it all. I lost $400 in under an hour probably to numerous opponents, each plaing better than me. I then withdrew $400 so i had the money to fall back on. As i am not working, it will help. my roll after this was $860. More comfortable now having withdrew i can start playing like normal. I won $180 straight away and got over $1000 once again. But this soon was lost and i decided to call it quits when i was down to $896. Im suprisingly happy even though i may have lost, this is probably because i feel a little safer. Anyway, i really want to play proper stakes so i can create a more interesting blog, im sure i will get there eventually ;) so...im sorry for boring you with my low stake crappy blog lol. Hope to please you all soon =)

see you round

New Plans gone Wrong First Day

I played $1/$2 hu and bought in for $40. The first hand of the first opponent i get AK on the BB and re raise his initial $6 raise and he pushes, i instantly call and he has QKoff. The flop is 10-J-3 the turn brings an ace for my top pair but its gives him a straight =(. I leave and buy in at another table for $40. I get 10-7 and raise the button and he calls, Flop was seven high and he checks me and i bet, he goes all in and i call, He has 10-6 with a straight draw and hits his straight. This was my 2nd buy in for this opponent. So i had already lost 3x buy in= $120. I may have tilted but not too bad and lost the $200 i called my 'stop loss'. But, very unsatisfied i buy in another $40, this $40 soon reached $100 when my AQ held up against QK all in pre. I then increased, bringing my bank roll to $1500. I played many opponents and beat them all and raised my bankroll a further $250 to reach another peak of $270 or so. As i was playing my last opponent i flop 2 pair with Q6 on a Q-6-7 board, i re raise him and he pushes and i call, he turns Q-7 for higher two pair. Overall, very satisfied with my play today and hoping for a good day tomorrow.

Bad Tilt And New Plans

I lost quite a lot of my bank roll after tilting bad and it was down to $750. And, as everyone probably knows, when your on tilt, all you want to do is make your bank roll back up and fast. So I played way above my limits and sat on a table of $5/$10 hu. Ibought in for $200 and it quickly went down to $130. I realised that the amount wasn't enough so i bought in for another $400, leaving my bankroll about $120 if i lost it all.

I get AK on the button and raise to $30, he re raises me to $100 and i push all in for about $560, he then folds. He buys in so he's sitting with $1000. Later on, after a few pots, i get 2-2on the button and raise, he calls and flop was A-5-4 and he bets out $50. I knew he didn't catch there and call, turn was a 2 for my set, he bets out around $130 odd and i take my time and just call. River is a J and he pushes (no flush available) and i cant put him on a 3 here so i call for a $1200 pot, he turns Q8 for queen high lol. I quit there having made my money back, so i tilted my way to victory!

My new bankroll plans are to have a stop loss. 'Bluescouse' ;) suggested $200 a session and $320 a day, these seem fine so i want to try and stick to these. Hope i can, but its easier said than done. Any other suggestions on BRM i would be happy to hear.

A Similar Day

Just hu cash games today as usual, I don't play much else. Its been very similar to yesterday in the way my bank roll has been up and down. It was up to $1,121 and been down to $820.

I have been not to pleased in the way in which i have played today. Here are some key hands:

$1/$2 hu vs stephx123, i had lost one buy in and was in for my second. I had $90 to his $80. I raised the button with 3-3 and he calls. Flop comes 7-4-2, i had a very good read on this player and knew when he had hit, i knew he didn't hit here and bet $12, he calls. Turn was an A. He pushes, he still hasn't hit but he's trying to stand up to me after bullying him out of pots, so i call. And, surely enough, he only has a straight draw (5-6) he doesn't hit and i took $169 pot

I had lost a bit after this and may have entered tilt, but not too bad. I decided to buy in for $200 after and i was playing 'Madzger'. We both started with $200 but every time he lost a little he would re buy to make it $200. So he was in for about $230. I get AK on the BB and re raise to $18 after his $6 initial raise. Flop was 6-J-A and i bet $36, he calls. Turn was a 3 hearts (now 2 hearts on board) and i check trap. He bets $78 and i push, he calls and turn K-10hearts for flush draw and doesn't hit, $430 pot.

Same game, same opponent, I played the biggest pot i have ever played. I get 10-K hearts on the button and raise. Flop is 7-10-3. I bet $12 and he calls. Turns is a king and i bet $36 with my two pair. He re raises all in and i call. He turns J-9 for straight draw and doesn't hit. Pot about $500. I left the table with around $650.

(drumrole) YES! YES! YES! whoop!

You can probably gather from the title of this post that its good news =) and indeed it is. My first post 'the story so far' states i started on $40 and my mission was to build this into a grand $1000. Today, is a glorious day lol, in which i have achieved this.

The ups and downs of today have been unreal and like no other! i started the day with a handsome $830 or so. I managed to increase to a peak of $950 before coming up against one extremely lucky fish. The game: $1/$2 hu. I had been playing well-ish, and i get Q-10 on the button and raise to $6, my opponent calls and flop is Q-4-4, i check and he bets $10, i raise to $50 (he has only $54 left) and he pushes, i call and he has 10-K. I was looking comfortable until the turn brought a 9 and the river a J to give him the straight. Against the same player i have QQ on the button and raise, he calls and flop is 2-8-A. He checks, i bet, he calls. Turn was a 4 and he bets, i raise him and he calls by pushing and showing 8-4 (maybe i could have read this hand a bit better).

It was later on against another opponent that i had A2spades on the button and raise, he re raises and i call (bad play) flop was 2-6-7, he bets out and i know he didn't hit and had better ace than me, i re raise him all in and he calls and turns ace king. It was unfortunate to see the king on the river =(

I had decreased my BR to $400 at lowest, this kept going up and back down many of times and my mood was changing as i was playing. I actually tilted half way into the day after some of the bad beats and started playing $3/$6, i actually managed to tilt my way to some profit and left. I finished a long session where i started (around $830). I played later trying to make it over $1000. Again, as before i just went up and down and did for some time.

The last opponent i was playing, i had $925 when i entered and quickly built to $997. The next hand i had A10spades on button and raise, he re raises and i push, he calls and turns A8clubs, the board hit my 10 with two clubs, he hit his flush on the river and i still wasn't there, i just kept stealing blinds and re raising him and i finally made it to over $1000.

My goal now is to just keep building, to not let my BR slip down a great deal and to try and reach $5k by end of August (because 'Blu' knows best ;)

Another Great Win hu

The only game i played today due to visiting the workhouse music festival has $1/$2 hu cash game when i got back. My opponent: 'drasto'= fish. I like to play guys with lots of money and no brain, so i bought in for $40 against his $200.

The game wasn't too exiting, i bust my $40 pretty early, i was not concentrating and talking to someone. I re bought for another $40. The game was raise your button and fold your BB, this happened a lot, apart from the odd time when we called or re raised. Not much happened. Although the game did liven up a bit when he started to notice i was winning a lot more pots, or larger pots, than him ad increased to around $90. We then started to play poker. Naturally, i whooped him at this as well and kept on increasing, winning many more larger pots. It was when I was sitting with $210 or so to his $200 and something (he kept re buying if his stack was lower than $200). I had JJ on the button, as i had done many times with various hands i raised to $6 and got a call. Flop came 10-9-6 rainbow, he checks and like always i bet $12. He comes over the top to $38, now i don't need express how bad this guy is, he likes top pair, even if its a 10 and he gets raised pre flop. He is right to raise. I take a second and push all in, he quickly calls and flips 10-Koff. He, amazingly, doesn't get lucky and i take the $417 pot =)
